WTHA REGIONAL EVENTS
Saturday. September 11, 2010. Civilian Pilot Training Program reunion dinner at the Merket Center at Texas Tech University. The Civilian Pilot Training Program reunion dinner is scheduled for September 11. This rare event will bring together the World War II pilot cadre from the South Plains for an evening of history and personal remembrances. Make your reservations by contacting John McCullough via his email address-- johnmc@breedlove-cptp.org<mailto:johnmc@breedlove-cptp.org>. John McCullough who has been researching the history of military aviation on the South Plains has put a lot of time and effort into chronicling the story of World War II pilot training and breathed life into a story that almost faded into history. While much of his initial research started in the Southwest Collection, he has taken the research where no one has gone before trailing the story across West Texas, the Southwest and into Europe. In the process he has almost single-handedly linked the various WWII museums and historical groups in Texas to comparable ones in England and France.
